Art for Homes

Art has always been a driver for activism and social change. With the support of some phenomenal artists across Wales, we were able to raise over £4000 at the 2021 Shelter Cymru Art Auction, helping to make sure no-one in Wales has to face the housing emergency alone.

g39 is home to Wales’ largest artist-run gallery and creative community for the visual arts. Estabished in Cardiff, g39 became a charity in 2019 and works as a bridge between communities, the public and artists. Artists are at the heart of g39’s activities. From residencies to training and mentoring, informal gatherings, or realising the most abitious of exhibitions – our aim is to encourage and enable every person whose ambition it is to pursue a visual art practice.

For 2023 We’re very excited to be working closely with g39 in Cardiff. All donated works will be installed in the space for three days prior to the event as part of their community themed season, ‘Commonplace’. There will be an online auction, details of which and list of works will follow nearer the time.

An online auction will run live on the night. Even better we will open the online bidding prior to the event too, to maximise everyone’s chance to be able to win the artwork they’re keen on.

The auction is now live!

Home is more than four walls and a roof.

It’s a place to thrive. Home is everything.

HOME IS A HUMAN RIGHT.

We exist to defend the right to a safe home in Wales and fight the devastating impact the housing emergency has on people and society.

We do this with advice, support and campaigns – and we never give up.

Last year, Shelter Cymru helped over 16,547 people though our services, including 5,525 households with dependent children. We will always fight for home, and for everyone without one. But we can’t do it without you. Help us keep our free advice services open for everyone in Wales who needs our help.

We believe that home is everything.

Stand with us. Join the fight.
