Throughout lockdown, we have been helping individuals and families in Wales who are in urgent housing need. People are worried about losing their jobs, protecting their families and losing their safe place of refuge – their home.
With livelihoods lost and households under enormous financial strain, the risk of homelessness is now a devastating reality for many more people. Our help has never been more needed.
Last year, Shelter Cymru supported almost 20,000 people who were either living in poor housing or facing/ experiencing homelessness. Over 7,000 of these were dependent children.
Our fundraised income is vital in sustaining our frontline support and an independent Welsh charity, every penny raised in Wales is spent in Wales.
