Run for team Shelter Cymru

From city centre races to coastal running events, join Team Shelter Cymru in 2026 and fight for home with us every step of the way. Last year, we helped more than 21,000 people in housing need though our services. But we can’t do it without you – home is everything, fight for it.

    Winter Warmer

    Sunday 1st February 2026

    A chance to lace up those shoes, get motivated, focus on training during winter and run this awesome 5k, 10k or half marathon running event with us. Our Winter Warmer Runs are proud to support Shelter Cymru which will allow them to help more people in Wales to find, and keep, a home.

  • People starting a marathon

    Great Welsh Marathon

    Sunday 8th March 2026

    Hosted at the magnificent Pembrey Country Park in Carmarthenshire, this race showcases the best of coast and country on a route that covers both the half and full marathon distance. This is a race for everyone, so whether you love inspiring freen spaces or are a sucker for coastal views, then you’ll run happy, as this has it all!

  • Runners holding SHELTER flag

    Wrexham 10k

    Sunday 28th April 2026

    The Wrexham 10k brings together an active community of people taking part in sporting events for reasons ranging from fitness, competition, charity, health, fun or to simply finish. The race offers a lovely route for all runners. It takes in the centre of Wrexham at the start and finish with a nice countryside section in the middle of the course.

  • Person running London marathon

    London Marathon

    Sunday 28th April 2026

    The London Marathon first took place in 1981 and has become one of the most popular marathons in the world. The route takes in many of London’s best-known landmarks including Buckingham Palace, The Cutty Sark, Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf. Run the London Marathon for Shelter Cymru in 2025.   • Men running marathon

    Swansea Half Marathon

    Sunday 7th June 2026

    We’re excited to be headline charity partner to Front Runner Events for the Swansea Half Marathon and City 5 Miler. The routes, which are wheelchair-friendly, start and finish in the heart of the city, with five miles of stunning coastline. Training plans and pacers are available across all times and you get a bespoke medal on the finishing line.

  • SHELTER Cymru team ready to start marathon

    Cardiff Half Marathon

    Sunday 4th October 2026

    The Cardiff Half Marathon is one of the largest road races in the United Kingdom. The fast and flat course passes all of the city’s most iconic landmarks including Cardiff Castle, Principality Stadium, Civic Centre and Cardiff Bay.

    By joining us as part of Team Shelter Cymru you will be joining us as we come together to continue our fight against homelessness.

  • Marathon runner giving the thumbs up

    Snowdonia Marathon

    Saturday 24th October 2026

    The first Snowdonia Marathon was held in 1982, and 2024 marks the 40th anniversary of this event, which offers an alternative to town and city races. Snowdonia Marathon Eryri has been voted the Best British Marathon twice. The demanding and spectacular route encircles Yr Wyddfa – the highest peak in England and Wales at 1,085m.
