Take Notice

Work it Out
The Work it Out service aims to prevent homelessness by providing information and early accessible advice on housing, debt and other related issues to people in work.
Debt advice

Cyngor 50+ Advice
Supported by the Big Lottery Fund, Shelter Cymru’s Cyngor 50+ Advice project provides specialist housing, welfare benefit and debt advice to people over 50 in Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire, as well as by email and telephone.
LGBT Aware
Housing and money worries can affect anyone, no matter what your circumstances. Shelter Cymru are working to increase awareness of LGBT issues across the Welsh housing sector.
Empty Homes
We believe empty properties represent waste, financial expense and missed opportunity for providing much needed affordable housing for people in Wales. Report empty homes to us.
Housing Benefit Change
Shelter Cymru is working with a number of partners in Wales – the Welsh Assembly Government, local authorities, Citizens Advice, Community Housing Cymru and Jobcentres – to try to mitigate the effects these changes will have.
Wrexham Homelessness Prevention Project for 18 and over

Valleys Inclusion Project
A project based in Caerphilly and Rhondda Cynon Taff, working intensively with clients who are accused of anti-social behaviour. The project is based on the premise that anti-social behaviour is a result of unmet support needs, which we aim to address.
Independent Housing Support
These are Supporting People-funded services and operate in Flintshire and Gwynedd. They provide advice and ongoing intensive support to people who may be experiencing difficulties managing their tenancy or mortgage.
Prison Link Cymru
This is a joint project providing homelessness prevention and advice for offenders before they leave prison. Shelter Cymru provides the service across the six north Wales authorities and Tai Trothwy across the remainder of Wales.
Rent Arrears Income Maximisation
This is designed to prevent homelessness by providing tenants with information about the benefits they are entitled to so they don’t get behind with the rent, and assisting with entitlement problems when they do.
