Wales is in the grips of a housing emergency, an emergency that sees record numbers of people left homeless, thousands facing rents that rise faster than wages and demand for Shelter Cymru services exceeding what we can provide.
Every day Shelter Cymru sees the human impact of this emergency. The education and employment opportunities lost, the lives on hold, and the damage caused to mental and physical health.
Unless we bring an end to the housing emergency Wales simply cannot thrive. This is why, in 2026, we need every political party to put solving the emergency and ending homelessness at the heart of their vision for Wales.
Shelter Cymru’s People & Homes Conference has a role to play in this. As one of the largest and most influential housing and homelessness conferences in Wales it is a key moment to bring together politicians, policy makers, experts, frontline workers and people with lived experience to discuss both the challenges we face and the commitments we need.
Given the scale of the challenges, ensuring we focus on the right issues is vital. This is why we are asking everyone to help us shape People & Homes 2025. To tell us what the issues are that you want to hear about, what the discussions are you want to have , and who it is you want to learn from.
You can do this by filling in this short survey: Start now
